Komets Erase Three-Goal Deficit, Beat Indy Fuel 4-3 in Overtime
FISHERS, Ind. — The Fort Wayne Komets turned a three-goal deficit into a 4–3 overtime victory over the Indy Fuel on Sunday, November 1, completing a dramatic ECHL comeback on the road.
Indy built a 3–0 advantage before Fort Wayne found a response. Arnaud Durandeau and Josh Davies contributed to the rally as the Komets increased their pressure and eventually forced an extra period.
Jack Kopacka delivered the decisive moment in overtime, scoring 1:45 into the extra session. Mitch Hults and Cole Hults were credited with assists on the winner.
The Komets outshot the Fuel 36–24, a reflection of the sustained offensive pressure that helped them recover from the early hole. Fort Wayne’s comeback demonstrated why a three-goal lead can be vulnerable when the trailing side keeps creating chances.
For Indy, the loss was especially difficult after controlling the scoreboard earlier in the game. Fort Wayne, meanwhile, left with a memorable divisional win and a result that could provide momentum going into the next ECHL matchup.
