Sheridan Blackhawks Fall 50-20 to Unbeaten Pioneer in Indiana Playoffs
SHERIDAN, Ind. — The Sheridan Blackhawks saw their postseason run end Friday, October 30, falling 50-20 to undefeated Pioneer in an Indiana high school football playoff matchup.
Pioneer entered the game without a loss and carried that form into the sectional contest. The Panthers led 7-0 after the first quarter, 21-7 at halftime and 35-14 through three periods before adding 15 points in the fourth.
Sheridan continued competing throughout the game, scoring seven points in both the second and third quarters and six more in the final period. The Blackhawks could not close the gap against a Pioneer team that maintained steady offensive production.
Sheridan quarterback Brock Hagan completed 16 of 37 passes for 241 yards and three touchdowns, according to the posted game statistics. The numbers reflected the Blackhawks’ willingness to keep attacking through the air despite the deficit.
The Blackhawks finished 6-5. Pioneer improved to 11-0 and advanced to a November 6 meeting with Caston, extending its unbeaten season.
Although the final score was lopsided, Sheridan’s playoff appearance capped a competitive season. Final Score 360 will continue following the remaining IHSAA postseason bracket and regional teams.
